Information that Russian forces are withdrawing from the Kinburn Spit (Mykolaiv region) is currently unconfirmed, said the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, in a comment to the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

“There is intelligence data that a regrouping and rotation of certain units of the Russian army is taking place there. Currently, one airborne unit is being replaced by a separate motorized rifle regiment of the 58th Army of the Russian forces, which will continue to carry out its tasks there,” the spokesperson said.

Voloshyn also emphasized that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are trying to cut the logistical route to the Kinburn Spit.

“Right now we are trying to cut logistics routes and keep them under fire in order to control the enemy’s logistics,” he added.

The spokesperson explained that there are two roads leading to the Kinburn Spit: one is a mostly paved road, while the other is a dirt road leading to Heroiske, which becomes practically unusable in bad weather.

“We are also targeting and cutting off the enemy’s logistics along this route. If Russian forces use it for transport, we strike it. Therefore, it cannot be stated that because logistics are being disrupted, the enemy is trying to withdraw its units from the Kinburn Spit,” Voloshin stressed.

He added that, according to current information, there is only rotation and redeployment of units from the northern part of the spit to more protected positions deeper inland, rather than a full withdrawal.

“Therefore, the situation on the spit is not favorable for the enemy, but they are not planning to leave voluntarily. We will continue making every effort to push them out,” Voloshin said.

Earlier, the partisan movement ATESH claimed that Russian forces were allegedly leaving positions on the Kinburn Spit due to logistical problems and personnel losses, according to a Telegram post.

According to ATESH, units of the 337th regiment of Russian forces are allegedly withdrawing due to a lack of ammunition, fuel, and supplies. The group also claims that Russian troops are leaving positions in the northern and western parts of the spit due to personnel losses.

The report also states that part of the personnel has been redeployed to the Zaporizhzhia direction, while remaining units on the Kinburn Spit were allegedly not fully reinforced.
