Intense fighting continues on the Huliaipole and Oleksandrivka axes of the front. Russian forces are trying to cut Huliaipole off from logistical routes and encircle the city.
Defense Forces of the South spokesperson Vladyslav Voloshyn stated this on television.
"Huliaipole, Orikhiv and Oleksandrivka are the three southern directions, and active fighting is currently ongoing on two of them (Oleksandrivka and Huliaipole). The enemy is trying first and foremost to cut Huliaipole off from its logistical routes and to envelop it from the east and northeast, to enter this settlement," he said.
According to Voloshyn, Russian forces are also actively using aviation, striking daily with guided aerial bombs and dropping several dozen such bombs on Huliaipole. Meanwhile, the situation on the Oleksandrivka axis is the most tense.
"As for the Oleksandrivka direction, it is entirely quite active. There we consistently record the highest number of combat engagements in the south, and they occur essentially along the entire section of the front that runs through this axis," the spokesperson emphasized.
He added that Russian forces also remain active on the Orikhiv axis, attempting to advance toward the settlements of Prymorske and Plavni, and are also approaching Stepnohirsk.
"The enemy is trying to advance along the shore of the former Kakhovka Reservoir and has already reached Plavni, while simultaneously conducting infiltration toward Malokaterynivka. Small infantry groups are being used for flanking maneuvers," Voloshyn reported.
The spokesperson noted that despite a decrease in the intensity of assaults over the past two days, the Russain fire activity has not stopped.
"The enemy constantly uses kamikaze drones, artillery and other means to strike our positions and settlements," Voloshyn concluded.
