Russian forces are attempting to infiltrate the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast from the south and southwest, advancing in small groups through the settlements of Zvirove and Pershe Travnia.
This was stated in an exclusive comment to Ukrinform by Alexey Belsky, spokesperson for the operational-strategic group of troops “Dnipro.”
“The Russian forces are trying to infiltrate personnel into Pokrovsk from the south and southwest through the settlements of Zvirove and Pershe Travnia, mostly in pairs,” he said.
According to the spokesperson, all attempts by the Russian forces to enter Pokrovsk will not go unanswered.

“I know which units, what incredible Cossacks are waiting for them [the Russians] in Pokrovsk, and I can only sympathize with the Russian forces who manage to get into the city—only those who surrender will survive. The rest will be quickly found and destroyed,” Belsky assured.
He also emphasized that Russian forces are significantly increasing pressure on the Pokrovsko-Myronhradska agglomeration, hoping to capture it this fall. Over the past day, they conducted assaults along nearly the entire defense line of the agglomeration—simultaneously on 15 directions.
“The Russian forces are actively searching for weak points in the defense of the Pokrovsko-Myronhradska agglomeration. But not only are they failing to break through, they are themselves suffering from our attacks—unexpected, creative, and effective,” the spokesperson said.
At the same time, Belsky reported that over the last two days, Russian forces began shelling from the Pokrovsk direction toward Novopavlivka.
“This settlement is also an important target for the Russian forces, which they have been unable to capture for many months,” he stressed.
The spokesperson also noted that in the past day, 195 combat clashes with Russian forces were recorded, a third of which occurred on the Pokrovsk direction.
“There was a record number of attacks there [Pokrovsk direction] since the start of assault operations toward Pokrovsk (since December of last year)—64 attacks!” Belsky remarked.
