Citizens fit for military service were banned from leaving the country in the Russian Federation. The Russian FSB sent a corresponding order to all the country's border departments (in the Russian Federation, border guards are part of the FSB).
The text states: "From January 9, 2023, from 00 hours 00 minutes, the border management of the FSB of Russia will ensure the restriction of travel outside the territory of the Russian Federation of citizens who have a conclusion of readiness for military service from categories "A", "B" and "C""
For the departure of the specified categories of citizens, the possibility of departure at all checkpoints in all directions will be closed. At the same time, as follows from the text of the order, departure will also be prohibited for citizens of the "B" category, i.e. those with limited fitness for military service. Conscripts in this category are exempted from peacetime conscription and military fees, and enrolled in the reserve.
Earlier it was already reported about the preparation of a new wave of mobilization in the Russian Federation. At the same time, it was noted that the main emphasis would be on the quantity and not on the quality of the mobilized people and the equipment provided to them. It will take about two months for equipping and initial preparation of the "replenishment".
