The Ukrainian military intelligence has received 20 Volkswagen T5 vans from the MK Foundation.
These maneuverable vans play crucial operational and logistical roles on the front line, serving as mobile repair workshops and medical evacuation vehicles.
Each type of vehicle has its own tasks, but civilian cars are equally important. They are fast and maneuverable, capable of transporting cargo, serving as mobile repair workshops, and medical evacuation units, and most importantly, they are less noticeable than large military equipment.
"Due to the high use of drone drops by the enemy, we desperately need compact wheeled vehicles, especially vans," says Spero, the commander of the UAV reconnaissance-strike complex platoon at Defence Intelligence. Several vehicles from the fund will go directly to his unit.
While the military is equipped with large machinery by the state and international partners, the need for vehicles like vans or pickups is typically met by volunteers and charitable foundations.
"Volunteers play a huge role in the war. They provide the army with necessary components: transport, drones, and the list goes on. It would be difficult without them," says a Belarusian volunteer known as "Yankee."
Soon, the vehicles, along with Ukrainian military intelligence, will head to the front lines.
