Russia is preparing new propaganda operations, specifically targeting Ukrainian refugees in Europe. The goal is to persuade those who left the country due to the war not to return.
According to Vadym Skibitsky, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, Russia is already conducting relevant activities. For instance, in Italy, they are using their operatives—so-called journalists from occupied Ukrainian territories—to justify their genocidal war against Ukraine.
"These include presentations of various 'artistic and documentary' books allegedly about Ukrainian crimes in Donetsk and Luhansk regions," Skibitsky said.
He also emphasized that Russia is actively working with Ukrainian citizens who have moved to European countries due to the war started by Russia.
"This is a very powerful effort by the Russians: creating various societies, educating children, and using churches—methods employed to make our Ukrainians lose their identity and, even more, to ensure they never return to us (to Ukraine)," Skibitsky explained.
