After it finally became clear that the Kremlin's plans to take over Ukraine failed, there are increasing reports of Russian elites' dissatisfaction with Putin. Because of the war in Ukraine, they are losing their fortunes, getting nothing in return but world isolation.

In an interview with Gazeta.ua, the representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov, said that some representatives of the Russian elites are already trying to establish contact with Ukraine and are asking for security guarantees.

"Many representatives of the so-called Russian elite already understand that this was a colossal mistake and a crime, and the final will be tragic for Russia. They are trying to find options for their salvation," Andriy Yusov said.

At the same time, the representative of the military intelligence of Ukraine noted that these "elites" do not yet talk about the struggle for internal changes in Russia, but only care about their own security and business.

"They are trying to make contacts and agree on personal security guarantees. There are already such cases," said a representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Despite this, according to Andrii Yusov, now the most significant danger for Putin is precisely those representatives of political elites who are not part of the dictator's "inner circle".

"To a large extent, the decision to start a full-scale war is a consequence of their management model. Modern Russia is a closed society, including within the dictatorial vertical: there is no provision for any discussion or pluralism of opinions. The decision is made by one person who is uneducated and incompetent; therefore, the consequences are catastrophic for Russia," concluded Andriy Yusov.
