Russians indeed are blocking the evacuation of civilians from the Belgorod region against the backdrop of the breach of the border. They are effectively using residents as "human shields."
This information was reported by Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, during a telethon.
"We can confirm this information (about the blockade of evacuation in the Belgorod region). We have received a series of interceptions, both conversations between law enforcement officers and conversations from local residents, who note that transport hubs are surrounded by law enforcement officers, there are checkpoints, and there are threats. The authorities are trying to use their citizens as 'human shields' to protect the regime," emphasized Yusov.
According to him, the fact of blocking the border has already been proven and publicized.
At the same time, Yusov clarified that in some populated areas, evacuation is still being carried out. This concerns the town of Graidvoron on the border with Ukraine.
Recall that several days ago, the "Russian Volunteer Corps," together with two other units, breached the border with Russia. Their soldiers entered the territory of several regions, including the Belgorod region.
Volunteers have repeatedly called on residents of the Belgorod and Kursk regions to evacuate.
However, today, March 14, the Ukrainian intelligence reported that the Russian authorities are blocking the evacuation of civilians in the Belgorod region.
