Ukraine discussed strengthening air defense, drone capabilities, and industrial cooperation with Denmark and Italy

Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Mykhailo Fedorov, held meetings with Denmark’s Minister of Defense, Jeppe Bruus, and Italy’s Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto.

Denmark: Ammunition, Drones, and the “Danish Model”

During his meeting with Danish Defense Minister Jeppe Bruus, Fedorov congratulated him on his appointment and thanked Denmark for its assistance to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian defense minister briefed the Danish side on the battlefield situation. Ukraine is regaining the initiative and advancing according to its own defense strategy. Particular attention was given to the success of Ukraine’s medium-range and deep-strike operations.

Ukraine expressed its gratitude to Denmark for investing in the supply of extended-range ammunition.

Denmark is also preparing a new aid package that will include support under the “Danish model.” Ukraine hopes the package will be approved as quickly as possible and in sufficient volume to take advantage of current opportunities on the battlefield.

The parties also discussed expanding industrial cooperation, collaboration on anti-ballistic defense projects, and joint efforts under the Drone Deal initiative. Denmark will continue supporting training centers for personnel of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

Italy: Air Defense and Anti-Ballistic Capabilities

During his meeting with Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, Fedorov thanked Italy for its consistent support for Ukraine.

The two sides discussed the next steps to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense capabilities.

Particular attention was also given to the possibility of Italy joining a joint European anti-ballistic defense project. Italian companies could participate in the initiative, including by supplying one of the key components required for the system.
