In Denmark, it is believed that Europe, the US, and other partners of Ukraine should lift restrictions on the use of long-range weapons.
This was stated by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen at the GLOBSEC security conference in Prague.
According to Mette Frederiksen, discussing “red lines” while a country is at war is a significant mistake that plays into the hands of the aggressor.
Europe, along with the US and other partners, has been saying for 2.5 years that they cannot allow Ukraine to lose this war.
Mette Frederiksen asserted that the approach needs to change, and the focus should instead be on providing support that will enable victory.
"Instead of discussing restrictions on weapons for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, we should be addressing the opposite issue: providing everything necessary for victory. Of course, we must not forget to adhere to international law. Ukrainians should have the ability to defend themselves, and self-defense includes the use of long-range weapons," said Mette Frederiksen.
The Danish Prime Minister urged those who are not adequately supporting Ukraine's victory to "understand how dangerous the situation is."
