In Russia, losses among the crew of the large landing ship "Cezar Kunikov," which was destroyed by Ukrainian forces on February 14, are being concealed.
This was reported by the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, during a telethon.
According to Pletenchuk, officially, there were 87 crew members aboard the sunken ship. At present, it is difficult to determine the exact number of casualties and injuries.
He added that after the attack on the ship, bodies - whether alive or dead - were loaded onto ambulances on the shore and transported to medical facilities.
The spokesperson noted that Russia is trying to conceal information about losses among the crew to the maximum extent. Typically, such information emerges over time, mainly in obituaries.
Furthermore, in Russia, "even the mouths of the relatives of the deceased are being shut." They are prohibited from posting such information on social media.
"They are motivated by the desire to prevent us (Ukrainians) from rejoicing," Pletenchuk explained.
