The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, has sent letters to law enforcement agencies calling for appropriate action regarding the creation of a Russian “database” where Ukrainian children from temporarily occupied territories can be “selected.”
He reported this in his Telegram channel.
According to Lubinets, Russia continues its genocidal policy against the Ukrainian people, employing the most cynical methods, including the illegal adoption of children from temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine—a practice that began in 2014 and may still be ongoing.
The ombudsman emphasized that a recently discovered Russian online resource allows users to “choose” a Ukrainian child from the occupied territories as if selecting goods.
In response, Lubinets urged law enforcement to take proper measures, stressing that such actions violate children’s rights and may constitute human trafficking.
He noted that Ukraine is doing everything possible to bring all children back, as their lives and safety are at stake. Lubinets also expressed hope for decisive support from the international community to help save these children.
