In the Black Sea, there may be around 400 sea mines, but accurately assessing the exact number is difficult due to the washed away mine-explosive devices from the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Station by Russian forces. Military spokesperson of the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, reported this during a broadcast of the United News telethon.

"The latest official figures given by the authorities are around four hundred mines, but this is a rough estimate considering how many mine-explosive devices were swept into the water due to the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Station by the Russians. It's difficult to count," he noted.

According to him, the Dniepr River was heavily mined, and after the Russians blew up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Station, "of course, the high water washed all of this into the Dnipro-Bug Estuary."

"The exact number of mines can only be determined during the demining operations in the Black Sea. International experience from similar conflicts shows that this is work for years," Pletenchuk concluded.
