In Odessa, as a result of a massive drone attack by Russian forces during the night of July 24, a nine-story residential building was destroyed. There is a risk of structural collapse, and fires broke out at a gas station and the local Pryvoz market.
According to the State Emergency Service (SES) on Telegram,
“Odessa endured another hellish night. Russian forces launched a massive attack on the city with strike drones. A nine-story residential building was destroyed—residents from the 5th to the 8th floors lost their homes, and apartments on the 5th and 6th floors of one entrance were burning. There is a risk of structural collapse,” the statement reads.
Rescuers evacuated 33 residents and rescued five more who were trapped in their apartments.
Canine teams worked at the site to search for possible victims.
An SES resilience point was deployed near the building. Psychologists from the SES and the National Police are working with affected residents.
Efforts to eliminate the consequences of the Russian attack are ongoing.
On the territory of the Pryvoz market, rescuers extinguished a fire in a two-story building and several trade pavilions that broke out as a result of Russian strikes.
Odessa’s calling card, Prymorskyi Boulevard — a favorite promenade for both locals and tourists — is part of the UNESCO World Heritage list. A Russian drone struck directly in the middle of the boulevard. Windows were shattered in historic landmarks, facades were damaged, and streetlights and benches were destroyed.
