On the night of Sunday, August 24, a group of drones carried out an attack on Russia’s largest maritime commercial port, Ust-Luga, in the Leningrad region.

This was reported by the Telegram channel Astra.

The governor of the region, Aleksandr Drozdenko, confirmed the attack. According to him, “ten drones were destroyed over the Ust-Luga port in the morning.”

“Debris from one of the drones caused a fire at the NOVATEK terminal. Firefighters and emergency services are working at the scene,” Drozdenko wrote.

Preliminary reports indicate that a gas and gas condensate rectification unit, an essential component for subsequent exports, was hit.

According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties. Air traffic at Pulkovo Airport has been temporarily suspended.
