On the night of October 29, Ukrainian drones carried out a massive attack on more than ten regions of Russia. In the Ulyanovsk region, drones were shot down in the Novospassky district, the regional governor reported.
According to Astra, the drones targeted the NS-Oil refinery in the settlement of Novospasskoye. Public data indicates that the facility processes up to 30,000 tons of oil per year.
Drones also attacked the Republic of Mari El, according to reports and videos shared by local residents on social media. Regional authorities have not officially commented on the drone strike.
According to the Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+, the attack targeted the Mari Oil Refinery in the village of Tabashino. The facility produces straight-run gasoline, diesel and marine fuels, fuel oil, and other petroleum products, with an annual capacity of 1.6 million tons. It is one of the largest enterprises in Mari El, accounting for up to 70% of the republic’s foreign trade turnover.
In Russia’s Stavropol region, Ukrainian drones attacked the industrial zone of Budyonnovsk. According to Astra, the strike hit the Stavrolen plant, owned by Lukoil. It is one of Russia’s leading producers of polyethylene and polypropylene.
In the ranking of the “100 Largest Companies of the North Caucasus Federal District by Sales Volume in 2021,” the company placed third. Each year, the plant produces around 340,000 tons of ethylene, 319,000 tons of polyethylene, and 113,000 tons of polypropylene.
In addition, for the third night in a row, drones were shot down on their approach to Moscow, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported. This time, there were four drones. “Emergency service specialists are working at the crash sites,” the mayor wrote on Telegram.
Because of the latest drone attack, Sheremetyevo, Zhukovsky, and Domodedovo airports were temporarily closed.
