Due to the unrelenting severe weather conditions in Ukraine, 1,025 populated areas have been left without electricity. The main cause of power outages is the gusty wind and ice on power lines, predominantly affecting Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Mykolaiv, and Kirovohrad regions.
The information was provided by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
"In Dnipropetrovsk Region, almost 29,000 consumers in 324 settlements are without electricity, while in Odessa Region, 268 settlements are affected. Additionally, 215 settlements in Mykolaiv Region and 146 settlements in Kirovohrad Region are experiencing power outages," the statement reads.
There are also reported outages in Zaporizhia (59 settlements), Kherson (14), Chernihiv (9), and Chernivtsi (8) Regions.
"Emergency crews in the weather-affected regions have been shifted to round-the-clock operation. Additional equipment is being sent from other regions. However, the work and movement are complicated by icing," emphasized the Ministry of Energy.
Energy workers are intensively working to restore power as quickly as possible.
