During the Russian army's missile attack on Ukraine on December 8, a total of 19 Kh-101 and Kh-555 cruise missiles were launched, and the Ukrainian air defense successfully intercepted and destroyed 14 of them. This information was provided by Yuri Ignat, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, during a televised marathon.
"Initially, 19 missiles were launched, including Kh-101 and Kh-555 cruise missiles. We have a good result from our air defense systems – 14 destroyed cruise missiles," he stated.
According to Ignat, the missiles were intercepted in the Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The initial trajectory was towards Dnipro. He added that some of the missiles hit infrastructure objects in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
On the morning of December 8, the Russians launched cruise missiles from strategic bombers Tu-95MS, passing through the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions towards the Kyiv area.
