Last year, the Military Intelligence and Security Service of the Netherlands (MIVD) took actions to restrict the digital mobility of Russian hackers targeting the Netherlands and its allies, including Ukraine, reported TVP.
"MIVD intends to continue this in the coming year," the recent annual report of MIVD stated.
According to the report, the Dutch intelligence service shared intelligence data with its Ukrainian counterparts about Russian cyber operations, enabling Ukraine to take action and subsequently halt information leaks.
"This has contributed to the protection of Ukrainian government networks and vital infrastructure," noted MIVD.
Additionally, MIVD exchanged intelligence and knowledge about Russian cyber operations with other partners and entities, such as government agencies and the private sector.
"The MIVD itself has also disrupted Russian cyber operations," the agency added.
It is worth noting that the report also indicated that the Netherlands is still an attractive espionage target for Chinese intelligence actors, especially in the semiconductor, aerospace, and maritime industries.
