First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, participated in the unveiling of eight Ukrainian-language audio guides at the Vatican Museums.
The audio guides feature 19 hours of content, voiced by prominent Ukrainians, including artists, TV hosts, athletes, and Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Vatican, Andrii Yurash. Despite the challenges of air raid alarms and power outages in Kyiv, the recordings were completed.
"Between narrations about eternal values, artists, and art, they had to rush to bomb shelters. A stark contrast to the life Ukraine endures now," Zelenska remarked.
This project adds to the 93 Ukrainian audio guides available in 50 countries, and Zelenska emphasized its continuation.
"For our compatriots abroad and for our language, which deserves to be heard. Thank you to all who listen to Ukraine and hear it," she said, expressing gratitude to the Vatican, the Ukrainian Embassy, and everyone involved.
On the same day, Zelenska donated a selection of books to the Vatican Library, creating a dedicated Ukrainian section to deepen understanding of Ukraine’s history and present.
