On the territory of Poland, training of personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues at training centres within the framework of the European Union Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine), coordinated by the Combined Arms Training Command (CAT-C).
Last week, several training modules were completed, culminating in comprehensive qualification assessments.
One of the key areas of instruction remains Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC). The training focuses on practicing casualty care procedures in combat conditions and increasing personnel survivability through the timely management of the three main potentially reversible causes of death on the battlefield: massive extremity hemorrhage, tension pneumothorax, and airway obstruction.

Training also continues for technical personnel and crews of Leopard main battle tanks and Bergepanzer armoured recovery vehicles. Course participants are enhancing their knowledge and practical skills related to the operation, employment, and maintenance of military equipment.
The training programme covers logistical and technical support for armoured units, including the safe operation of equipment, diagnostics, technical support procedures, and maintaining operational readiness during both routine activities and assigned missions.

Joint training conducted with the participation of international partners contributes to enhancing the professional capabilities of Ukrainian service members, improving interoperability with partner nations’ armed forces, and implementing modern approaches to military training.
Background: EUMAM Ukraine
The European Union Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine) aims to strengthen the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the country’s territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders, as well as to deter and respond to potential future military threats. The mission is conducted on the territory of European Union Member States in close cooperation with international partners and provides training for Ukrainian personnel across a broad range of military disciplines.
CAT-C (Combined Arms Training Command) is responsible for coordinating the training of Armed Forces of Ukraine personnel in Poland within the framework of EUMAM Ukraine, ensuring the organisation and delivery of specialised training courses with the participation of instructors from partner nations.
