Ukrainian creativity gains global visibility through DesignView integration

Industrial designs from Ukraine are now available in DesignView — the world’s largest design database. Ukrainian design heritage can now be searched and verified from anywhere in the world, while Ukraine, as an EU candidate country, has taken another practical step toward integration into the European intellectual property system.

The integration was carried out on July 8, 2026, by the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (UANIPIO), operating under the leadership of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, in cooperation with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). With Ukraine’s accession, DesignView now combines data from 78 intellectual property offices.

This continues the integration process that Ukraine began with TMview: since October 2025, more than 600,000 Ukrainian trademarks have been added to the European database. Now national industrial designs have also been included, making Ukrainian intellectual property more visible at the European and global levels.

Why is this important for Ukrainian businesses and creators? Free access to reliable design data primarily provides legal certainty and builds trust. For Ukrainian designers, entrepreneurs, and innovators, it facilitates rights protection, simplifies international cooperation, and makes Ukrainian creativity more visible in global markets.

Currently, DesignView contains more than 24.7 million industrial designs, including over 98,300 from Ukraine. Access to the database is free for all users.

The integration was implemented within the EU4IP project, funded by the European Union, which supports the harmonization of Ukrainian intellectual property legislation and standards with EU law. The first phase (July 2024 – December 2025) has been completed, while the second phase has been approved through the end of 2026.

“An idea, a design, an invention — these are things that Ukraine creates brilliantly, and this is the capital with which we enter the world. Our task is to ensure that Ukrainian creativity is protected and recognized everywhere. Joining DesignView means exactly that: the achievements of our creators are no longer limited within the country but are becoming part of the global market under reliable protection,” said Oleksandr Tsybort, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
