According to the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, USD 68.24 billion resource makes up the volume of exports of goods from Ukraine in 2021. This figure is the highest since 2012. Ukraine had previously had figures of this level in 2011 (USD 68.39 billion) and in 2012 (USD 68.81 billion).
Such export results are of great importance for the budget of Ukraine. When Ukrainian producers sell their goods abroad, we receive an inflow of foreign currency, allowing us to finance import costs without destabilizing the foreign exchange market as well as accumulate international reserves to strengthen the stability of the economy. Besides, additional export earnings increase budget revenues and, accordingly, opportunities for financing social expenditures and development programmes.
Yulia Svyridenko, Minister of Economy of Ukraine
The turnover of goods in 2021 in Ukraine amounted to USD 141.54 billion, which is by 36.71% more than in 2020. The value of exports in absolute terms increased by USD 19.05 billion.
