The Finnish government intends to initiate the production of artillery ammunition for Ukraine. The relevant decision is expected to be made before Christmas.
Finnish Defense Minister Antti Kaikkonen announced this in an interview with Iltalehte.
"We have concluded negotiations on how Finland will continue to expand the production of ammunition for Ukraine. This decision will be made in the near future," said Kaikkonen.
The official noted that this matter will likely be resolved before Christmas. He added that a plan has been announced for a significant increase in the production of ammunition.
"Our intention is to support Ukraine even more strongly than now. At the same time, we will continue to enhance Finland's and the Northern European countries' readiness for ammunition production," Kaikkonen added.
It is emphasized that the production will be increased by tens of millions of euros.
