The Lviv-based studio Skeiron, which specializes in the digitalization of cultural monuments, has uploaded 3D models of Ukrainian architectural sites and museum exhibits to the Google Arts & Culture platform. These models are now available in Google Search.
Skeiron began collaborating with Google in 2022, launching the Ukraine Nearby project, which aimed to promote Ukrainian culture on a global level by making it accessible to a wider audience.
Through this collaboration with Google, the Skeiron team has published over 40 architectural sites and more than 120 museum exhibits on the platform.
In addition, they are publishing articles about Ukraine's historical and cultural landmarks. Currently, they are preparing articles about Zhovkva, Belz, Rava-Ruska, and the sites they have digitized in these cities, as well as articles about the museums they are working with to create 3D tours.
"The global community can now explore the richness of Ukrainian culture, contributing to its integration into the world cultural context," noted the Skeiron team.
Google Arts & Culture is a platform that uses cutting-edge technology to preserve and promote cultural heritage from around the world, allowing users to explore museum collections, archives, and other cultural objects online from anywhere.
