General Staff confirms damage to Russia’s Space Communications facility

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has clarified the results of strikes on the Vladimir Space Communications Center in the area of Gus-Khrustalny in Russia’s Vladimir region, as well as on the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant.

This was reported by the General Staff on Facebook.

According to updated analysis, the results of the strike carried out on the night of June 22 by units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces against the “Vladimir” Space Communications Center have been confirmed.

In particular, the main antenna of the complex (a 25-meter parabolic antenna) and an antenna on the roof of the main hardware and software complex were critically damaged.

The central part of the main hardware and software building was also significantly damaged, including halls containing satellite modem systems and multiplexers, as well as the central switching node, where fiber-optic communication lines from other space centers converge.

The building of Hardware and Technical Block No. 1 was also critically damaged. It houses transmitting and receiving systems, the central switching unit for cable routes of antenna posts of the center, and equipment for cooling transmitters and electronics of the complex’s main antenna.
