Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko held an online meeting with State Secretaries of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany Franziska Brantner and Stefan Wenzel and heads of leading German energy companies. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine for European Integration Yaroslav Demchenkov and Head of NPC Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi.
German Galushchenko stressed that as a result of massive missile attacks by Russia about 50% of the entire energy infrastructure of Ukraine was damaged. Therefore, energy companies are now in critical need of equipment and materials to repair energy facilities and restore stable energy supply to consumers.
âWe need equipment for urgent repairs, and we also need to create a critical reserve, because the attacks will continue. The priority is high-voltage equipment. It is not only about humanitarian aid. We are ready to buy equipment and do everything to deliver it as quickly as possible. We appreciate the support of our German partners in the framework of the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership. But now we urgently need to intensify these efforts, because this affects the operation of our energy system during the winter at low temperatures,â emphasized German Galushchenko.
The German side assured the Ukrainian side of full support for Ukraine. Representatives of energy companies stressed that they would make every effort to increase and accelerate assistance to the Ukrainian energy sector.
The meeting was attended by representatives of TransnetBW GmbH, TenneTTSO GmbH, AmprionGmbH, 50Hertz Transmission GmbH, ABB, RWE Generation SE, Siemens Energy, Exide Technologies, Tyco Electronics Raychem GmbH, Tridelta Meidensha GmbH, the Embassy of Germany in Ukraine, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany, the Secretariat of the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership, GIZ, and others.
