Italian Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto believes that it is not yet time for peaceful negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
He made this statement in an interview with Quotidiano Nazionale.
Crosetto acknowledged that the attention to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has decreased, but not on the political level, only in the media.
The Italian minister added that the support for Kyiv from the West and the EU has not changed.
"Ukraine is fighting for the defense of its sovereignty and the observance of international law... Obviously, a strong peace cannot be based solely on military actions. Political 'truce' is needed. The time for that has not come yet, but 'Hope dies last,'" Crosetto noted.
