In 2024, the Ministry of Strategic Industries increased the production of cruise missiles by eight times compared to 2023. This was announced by the Minister of Strategic Industries, Herman Smetanin, during a briefing ahead of Armament Day.

"Two years ago, when the country could only produce one cruise missile – the 'Neptune,' last year we saw a significant increase in the number of new products, which led to an eightfold increase in production compared to 2023," Smetanin stated.

Additionally, the production of long-range drones in 2024 grew by more than two times compared to 2023, and by 22 times compared to 2022. Overall, by the end of 2024, Ukraine had developed 324 new types of weaponry. In the past year, Ukraine produced weaponry worth $9 billion.

"For this year, we already see growth. By the end of this year, we will have the capacity to produce military equipment worth $35 billion within Ukraine," Smetanin added.

According to the President's Strategic Adviser, Oleksandr Kamyshin, Ukraine is now capable of supplying the Ukrainian Armed Forces with nearly all types of military goods.

"Today, according to various estimates, between 30% and 40% of what our frontlines are fighting with is produced in Ukraine. This is our economy. As of last year, a significant portion of GDP is now contributed by our defense sector. I am confident that after the war, with our victory, we will be able to export our weapons," Kamyshin added.
