In cooperation with Dnipro, Milan is providing buses to Ukrainian cities, creating a new impulse for inter-municipal partnership between both countries, stated Boris Filatov, the mayor of Dnipro.
Milan, being a powerful Italian city, provided buses to Dnipro, a transfer that was discussed by mayors Giuseppe Sala and Boris Filatov during their meeting last autumn. In turn, Dnipro will distribute them to several Ukrainian communities that are currently in dire need.
"Milan continues to support Ukraine. The bus fleet of the city of Dnipro has lost many vehicles due to bombardments. In Milan, we know whose side we are on," noted Mayor Sala.
The first batch of buses is already on its way to Ukraine.
"This is a powerful impulse for the inter-municipal partnership of both countries. It sends a signal of support and readiness to continue joint work. Because Dnipro, which is a medical, logistical, humanitarian, and military center in the war against Russia, also becomes a hub for international assistance," emphasized Filatov, summing up the mission.
