In Irpin, a square will be created where the graffiti of the British street artist Banksy will be displayed under glass as an installation, as reported by the city council.
The concept for the square on Severinivska Street was developed in collaboration with the architectural bureau Vovk+Partners Architects. According to the concept, the square will also feature items from the time of the city's de-occupation.
Additionally, another section with graffiti will be created in a different part of the square, and pedestrian walkways and recreational areas will be arranged.
The architectural bureau Vovk+Partners Architects has already developed 20 projects for the reconstruction of the Irpin community and has submitted sketches to the city council.
In 2022, Banksy created seven graffiti works in Kyiv and its suburbs (Hostomel, Irpin, Borodyanka). Some art critics accused the artist of lacking sensitivity to the context, creating his works in places of tragedy on ruined buildings.
