Military Chaplains' Day is celebrated every year on October 25th. This holiday was initiated in honor of Saint Martin of Tours, the Bishop of Tours, who is considered the founder and patron saint of military chaplains.
The event was attended by representatives of the clergy, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the Territorial Defense Forces, and the city's residents.
Mykyta Stierin, the Director of the Department for Public Associations, congratulated the military chaplains of the Kharkiv Eparchy of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine on the holiday and presented them with awards from the city council. A liturgy was also held, presided over by Archbishop Mytrofan of Kharkiv and Slobozhanshchyna.
To mark the occasion, a guelder rose was planted on the church grounds.
