In May 2024, Ukraine's state and state-guaranteed debt increased by 104.68 billion hryvnias, while decreasing in dollar equivalent by $0.53 billion. This information comes from the press service of the Ministry of Finance.
As of May 31, the state and state-guaranteed debt amounted to nearly 6.12 trillion hryvnias, or $150.99 billion. Specifically,
- The external state and state-guaranteed debt was 4.41 trillion hryvnias (72.12% of the total amount), or $108.89 billion.
- The internal state and state-guaranteed debt was 1.7 trillion hryvnias (27.88%), or $42.1 billion.
Specifically, Ukraine's own state debt amounted to 5.79 trillion hryvnias (94.81% of the total amount), or $143.15 billion. This includes:
- External debt: 4.16 trillion hryvnias (68.05% of the total amount), or $102.75 billion.
- Internal debt: 1.63 trillion hryvnias (26.76%), or $40.4 billion.
The state-guaranteed debt of Ukraine was 317.5 billion hryvnias (5.19%), or $7.84 billion, including:
- External debt: 248.65 billion hryvnias (4.07%), or $6.14 billion.
- Internal debt: 68.85 billion hryvnias (1.13%), or $1.7 billion.
Earlier reports indicated that in April 2024, Ukraine's total state and state-guaranteed debt increased by 86.17 billion hryvnias, or $0.47 billion, reaching 6 trillion hryvnias.
