NATO military exercises have commenced in northern Sweden. Within their framework, support for American units will be practiced.
According to ERR, military convoys several kilometers long will be moving in northern Sweden for several days. They will consist of approximately 200 military vehicles and 1600 soldiers.
The objective of the exercises will be to practice supporting American units. Specifically, the Swedes are expected to provide transportation and security along the route across the Atlantic Ocean to the northern part of Scandinavia.
It is worth noting that similar exercises were conducted in Germany in 2015. At that time, the United States intended to demonstrate that their military presence was back in Europe after a long hiatus. The exercises were a response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2014.
