In the Kherson region, Russian troops have not reduced their military grouping. Instead, they are conducting rotations at the front lines of their units.
This was reported by Dmitry Lykhoviy, spokesperson for the Joint Forces of the Tavria direction, during a telethon.
"After the start of the Kursk operation by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, when the enemy redeployed some of its units, particularly to Kursk, it withdrew most of these units from the Zaporizhzhia region. However, in Kherson, the number of troops has remained the same. The Russians have not weakened their grouping; on the contrary, they are conducting rotations at the front lines," Lykhoviy said.
He added that the Russians are redeploying units, including the Storm brigades, to maintain the intensity of their assault actions and to continue their attacks.
The spokesperson also noted that the occupiers have significantly intensified their activity on the islands along the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region and are persistently trying to dislodge Ukrainian units from positions they have held since withdrawing from Krynyky. The defense forces continue to hold their positions.
He also mentioned that this Russian activity is the most significant in the past few months since the end of the active defense of Krynyky, when Ukrainian units were redeployed to other designated positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River.
