In Ukraine, a strategy for legal regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) will be developed. Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced this following a strategic session involving experts, government officials, members of parliament, and lawyers, which marked the beginning of the work on creating a regulatory framework for AI.

"We must not lag behind the rest of the world but lead the AI trend. We need to understand what is happening, respond quickly, and have our own strategy. It is impossible to talk about a digital state if we do not shape a progressive policy in the field of artificial intelligence and set the agenda for the world," wrote Fedorov in his Telegram channel.

According to him, the use of AI is planned in various areas in Ukraine. For instance, the Ministry of Digital Transformation is developing a virtual assistant in the Diia application, whose task is to quickly find answers to user's questions. Additionally, AI will assist the State Statistics Service in processing and analyzing data, Fedorov added.

Fedorov also highlighted the benefits of AI in military technologies. According to him, artificial intelligence helps to detect enemy movements, intercept missiles, improve targeting for drones, and more.

"We are creating conditions for top international companies specializing in artificial intelligence to enter the Ukrainian market," added Fedorov.
