As of now, over 2800 bodies and body fragments of military personnel have been successfully identified in Ukraine.
This was reported by the Telegram channel of Ukraine's ombudsman, Dmytro Lubinets.
Lubinets stated that an important meeting took place yesterday with the family members of deceased servicemen, who had lodged complaints about the prolonged period of identification of unidentified bodies of defenders.
"Due to the appeals from family members of servicemen regarding the prolonged period of identification of unidentified bodies of defenders, our institution invited representatives of state authorities for communication, clarification of reasons, and discussion of ways to resolve the problem," he explained.
According to the ombudsman, as per the Minister of Health, over 2800 bodies and body fragments of military personnel have been successfully identified.
"The process of searching for their relatives for repatriation for burial is ongoing. Also, according to representatives of state authorities, relatives cannot find the bodies of defenders because they have not yet been transferred to the Ukrainian side. However, the process of repatriation of bodies is underway," added Lubinets.
