In Zakarpattia, during a session of the Kereckivka village council, a deputy detonated grenades inside the building. As a result, at least 26 people were injured, with some in critical condition.
Official information about the grenade explosion in the Kereckivka village council building was provided by the press service of the Zakarpattia Regional Police.
"Today at 11:37, a report was received on the '102' hotline that during a session of the council in Kereckivska village of Mukachevo district, one of the deputies detonated grenades," the statement said.
Initially, law enforcement reported that one person (the perpetrator) died as a result of the explosion, and 11 others were injured. However, the information was later updated. Currently, 26 people are known to have been affected by the incident, with 6 of them in critical condition. The police added that medical professionals are conducting resuscitation measures for the man who detonated the grenades. All relevant services, including the police investigative and operational group, explosive experts, and forensic specialists, are currently working at the scene. Primary investigative actions are underway.
Grenades were detonated by the deputy of the village council from the "Servant of the People" party, Serhiy Batrin.
Currently, eyewitnesses and witnesses to the event are being identified, as well as the motives of the perpetrator
