Konstantin Panfilov, Deputy Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Regional Administration, told Suspilny about this.
âUnder occupation are the most powerful livestock farms in Kupyansky, Izyumsky, as well as parts of the Chuguevsky district. The specific total weight of cattle in the farms of the Kupyansky and Izyumsky districts is 46%, and volumes of milk production - 48%. Half of the livestock products and more than 60% of pig products have been lost in the part of the Chuguevsky district,â Panfilov said.
According to him, there are destructions in 10 farms due to hostilities.
âSeven of them recorded the death of animals, and two powerful breeding plants in the dairy cattle breeding industry were damaged.â
Panfilov noted that the sowing campaign in the Kharkiv region continues: almost 90% of the projected areas for spring crops have been sown.
âNow, due to hostilities, farmers are working on 60% of the area in the controlled territory of the region in 5 districts, except for Izyumsky and Kupyansky. 320 thousand hectares were sown with various spring crops in the controlled territories, 68% less than last year. Close to completion of the sowing agrarians of the Natalya and Krasnograd communities, the work has been completed by 92% and 96%. Bogodukhovskaya and Zachepilovskaya communities are actively carrying out the sowing campaign. The sowing of corn for grain, millet, buckwheat, sunflower, soybeans, vegetable crops continues,â Panfilov said.
According to him, the most significant problems during the sowing campaign are ammunition and the fuel crisis.
âMine clearing is progressing at a slow pace. Fuel supply is the most critical factor for spring fieldwork. Agrarians of the region are experiencing a deficit. The problem will be solved within a week thanks to fuel from Western Europe,â the official said.
