Israel has asked all parties involved in the deal to sell strategic materials not to disclose it publicly so as not to "anger Putin."

The Israeli authorities allowed NATO member countries to supply Ukraine with weapons containing Israeli components and financed the purchase of "strategic materials" for Ukraine.

Israel's Defense Ministry recently softened its recommendations and agreed that NATO members such as the UK could supply Ukraine with weapons containing Israeli components, "such as electro-optical systems and fire control systems," Haaretz reported.

The publication also found out that, under pressure from the US administration, Israel recently agreed to finance "strategic materials" for millions of dollars to help Ukraine.

According to three senior European diplomatic officials, the Americans wanted Israel to supply anti-aircraft batteries to Ukraine. But after negotiations between the two countries' governments, the parties decided that Israel would finance the strategic materials.

A payment worth several million dollars was transferred to a NATO member country actively supplying military equipment to Ukraine. This country purchased strategic materials and sent them to Ukraine. About what materials are in question, the publication is unknown.

At the same time, Israel asked all parties involved in the deal to sell strategic materials not to disclose it publicly so as not to "anger Putin."

  • In October 2022, Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid announced that his country would not supply weapons to Ukraine.
  • Later, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz spoke with his Ukrainian counterpart, Aleksey Reznikov. As a result of telephone conversations, it became known that Israel would help our country but would not provide air defense systems.
  • On the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Israel to decide whether it is with the democratic world or it turns a blind eye to Russian terror.
