The next, 8th meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine, or the "Ramstein" format, will take place on January 20, 2023.
This is stated in a message on the German Ministry of Defense website following a conversation between the head of the department, Christine Lambrecht, and the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin.
"As part of the preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Ramstein format on January 20, 2023, the main topics of discussion were the current military situation in Ukraine and the coordination of further military support for Ukraine's defense campaign," it said.
The Pentagon previously announced that the heads of defense departments of 50 countries would participate in the eighth meeting of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine.
"Together with our allies, we once again demonstrate that we jointly support Ukraine and act as a united and closely coordinated front. Together we are stronger," the German Defense Minister stressed.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, announcing the new "Ramstein", stated that Ukraine has "high hopes for new decisions on defense support from partners", and called the meeting "very important for announcing new decisions".
The "Ramstein" format, which unites more than 50 countries of the world, was launched with the aim of collective support for Ukraine to meet the defense needs of the Ukrainian army in the face of a full-scale Russian invasion.
