On May 11, the Board of Representatives of the IT Ukraine Association met with Mrs. Yulia Svyrydenko, the First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine. Vitaly Sedler, the President of the Association briefed the participants on the activity of the Association and key issues of the IT market in wartime. Konstantin Vasyuk, the Executive Director of the Association presented specific figures and economic indicators of the industry, prepared as part of a new study of the Association on the state of the export industry "Ukrainian IT Industry: reboot in wartime". He stressed the importance of open dialogue between business and the state, the synergy of all participants in the IT market, which will reinforce the potential of the industry to support the state.
Mrs. Svyrydenko underlined the importance of the export-oriented IT industry for the country's economy and, in particular, its support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. She confirmed the state's interest in the continuous work of the IT sector and other export-oriented industries, as well as in providing regular foreign exchange earnings to the country's economy.
The issues on the agenda of the meeting were the folowing:
- Reservation of IT specialists as a separate category of conscripts.
- Possibility of temporary departure abroad of specialists engaged in foreign economic activity.
- Maintaining the status of a resident tax payer for citizens of Ukraine who are temporarily protected in EU countries.
The participants discussed the next steps to address the above mentioned issues and agreed to hold regular meetings to exchange of information as well as to support bilateral dialogue.
