The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) will open a representative office in Ukraine. This move is set to deepen partnerships and enhance business cooperation between Ukrainian and Japanese companies. The announcement was made by Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine and Trade Representative of Ukraine.
“The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine has completed negotiations and registered the JETRO representative office in Ukraine. The opening of JETRO’s office is a strategic step, resulting from productive negotiations with the Japanese government, and marks the beginning of a new era of cooperation between our two countries. We aim to create an attractive business environment that will attract Japanese investments and foster strong partnerships between Ukrainian and Japanese companies,” stated Kachka.
Japan plans to provide $188 million to support Ukraine’s economic recovery projects. Priority areas include energy, utilities, critical infrastructure, humanitarian demining, and business support. The establishment of the JETRO office is expected to accelerate the adoption of Japanese technologies in Ukraine and open new markets for Japanese brands produced locally.
