High Representative of the EU, Josep Borrell, condemned the Russian shelling of a truck belonging to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Donetsk region, which resulted in the deaths of three ICRC staff members.
He posted about this on the social network X.
Borrell stated that he "strongly condemns" the Russian shelling of the ICRC truck, which was delivering humanitarian aid in Donetsk region.
"Under no circumstances can Humanitarian workers be a target. Russia will be held accountable for all its IHL violations," he emphasized.
On the morning of September 12, the Russian army shelled Virolyubivka in Donetsk region, killing three people and injuring two others.
Later, it was revealed that the victims of the attack were employees of the ICRC. They had arrived in the area to distribute fuel briquettes to local residents for heating their homes.
President Volodymyr Zelensky, following the Russian attack on the ICRC humanitarian mission vehicles in Donetsk region, stressed that the world must respond to the aggressor's war crimes firmly and decisively.
