Lately, there have been increasing talks about the Russians preparing for a new large-scale offensive that could target major Ukrainian cities such as Kyiv, Kharkiv, and others. Vitaliy Kim, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, commented to Hromadske Radio on whether there is a threat to the region.
According to him, the enemy continues to shell the Mykolaiv region, and the town of Ochakiv suffers the most, being attacked almost daily.
"Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ochakiv has been attacked almost every day. Today at night, there were strikes in the Voznesensk district, fortunately without casualties. The Russians constantly shell the region; we are about 25 kilometers from the front line on the Kherson direction, and Ochakiv is less than 4 kilometers away across the strait," said Vitaliy Kim.
Regarding a large-scale offensive, Vitaliy Kim is confident that the enemy will not be able to advance in this direction.
"We monitor the enemy's movements nearby, intercept some of their phone conversations. Their situation is not very stable. There is no talk of an attack (offensive) in our direction. We do not see any equipment redeployments or an increase in personnel. At the same time, they terrorize us with shelling and use the southern direction to attack Odesa, the central, and western parts of Ukraine," concluded the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.
