Kuleba commented on the nuclear blackmail of the Russian Federation, in particular, regarding the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

Nuclear blackmail is taboo in international relations. But the Russian Federation resorts to it because of the fear of losing the occupied territories.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Kuleba stated this on the air of a nationwide telethon.

"Nuclear blackmail is a taboo in international relations. Only pariah countries resort to it. Therefore, the fact that Russia begins to appeal to nuclear blackmail so secretly, this indicates only one thing - about their state of despair and understanding that they even have to threaten a nuclear catastrophe in order to contain Ukraine and its partners in plans to liberate Ukraine from the occupier," the minister said.

Kuleba explained that the UN is ready to take action in this situation, but one must understand that its mandate is rather limited.

"But, nevertheless, we will help the United Nations to use all the mechanisms that can be used to stabilize the situation. However, it is obvious to everyone that the only way to ensure nuclear safety at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is for Russia to get out of there," said the Foreign Minister.

According to him, as long as the occupiers are at the ZNPP, there will be a source of threat until then.

Recall that Russia is using the captured Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant near Energodar, which it occupied on March 4, for nuclear blackmail.
