Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, met with Aiden Aslin, a soldier of the International Legion of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who is from Britain.
In April 2022, he was captured by Russian forces in the besieged Mariupol and "sentenced" to death. However, within a few months, thanks in part to the efforts of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the soldier was rescued from the captivity along with 214 other Defenders of Ukraine.
During his rehabilitation, Aiden Aslin wrote the book "Putin's prisoner," in which he recounted his experience of being held captive. The book was published by the British publisher Penguin Books.
During the meeting, Aiden presented the book to Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov. The Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine presented the British volunteer with a signed flag of the International Legion, which Aiden will pass on to his fellow combatants.
Honor and respect to the Defender and to all soldiers who are defending Ukraine today!
