Russia has deployed elements of the new S-500 air defense system in Crimea. This will be an experimental use of the system.

This was reported by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, during a telethon.

He noted that the Russian occupiers are trying to strengthen air defense in Crimea. In this regard, they are deploying new air defense systems.

'The newest elements of the S-500 have now appeared. This will essentially be an experimental application. But they have already appeared there (in Crimea),' Budanov said.

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate added that the Russian occupiers continue to use the Crimean Bridge primarily for the transfer of military personnel and some other cargo.

'The Kerch Bridge has always been used and continues to be used, and as long as it exists, it will be used. It is true that the main cargo is transported by ferries, but personnel also travel across the bridge. Cargo is less, but for personnel, it is the main route,' the intelligence officer stated.
