As reported by LRT, Lithuania is opening a new FPV drone pilot school, with instructors who have gained experience in Ukraine.
The school will be available to military personnel, law enforcement officers, members of the Lithuanian Riflemen's Association (which provides basic military skills to all interested parties), companies, and private individuals.
The first course will start in September in Vilnius, with plans to expand to all major cities in Lithuania.
The school is collaborating with the renowned Ukrainian school Boryviter, incorporating their expertise and programme.
Giedrė Gudonytė, the director of the school, said that the training courses will be tailored for each target group.
Civilians will be taught not only how to fly but also how to properly assemble and set up drones.
Representatives of the security forces will receive in-depth training on using drones in modern warfare based on Ukrainian experience.
"The war in Ukraine has demonstrated that drones have become an integral part of warfare, and the use of this capability often determines the outcome of battles. Therefore, our programme will place significant emphasis on the tactical application of drones and operational planning," she said.
Depending on the group and course, the training will last from 60 to 120 hours, combining theory and practical sessions in small groups.
Instructors will continue to enhance their skills by maintaining contact with Ukrainian colleagues to stay updated on new trends and battlefield realities.
In the future, the school aims to expand its training programme to include more advanced devices, such as fixed-wing drones, and to start training new instructors.
