Lithuanian volunteers have purchased over two thousand drones to strengthen the capabilities of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

The funds were raised during the Radarom! charity campaign in February this year, reports LRT.

The campaign united the Lithuanian people and companies to support Ukraine.

More than 4.4 million euros of the collected funds have already been spent to support Ukrainian troops. With this money, 2,609 drones were purchased, and an advance payment was made for another 320 Lithuanian drones.

In total, 2.6 million euros have been spent on producing Lithuanian drones, and 1.7 million euros on equipping Ukrainian manufacturers.

“Thanks to the people and companies of Lithuania, we can contribute to defending Ukraine, and that is the most important thing. From day one of the campaign, we’ve kept a close eye on the process, continuously monitoring progress and reporting to the public on how donations are used. Trust is our highest value, so we are committed to acting responsibly and transparently,” said LRT CEO Monika Garbačiauskaitė-Budrienė.

The publication noted that at first, Ukrainian-made drones dominated, as their delivery process was faster, but now the results of Lithuanian manufacturers’ work are becoming apparent.

The third Radarom! campaign, held from February 3 to 24, was organized by LRT together with the organizations Blue / Yellow, Laisvės TV, and Stiprūs kartu. During the campaign, residents and companies in Lithuania donated 5,737,028 euros.
